Great South Bay YMCA and our dedicated volunteers who serve on the Allan Van Nostrand Tennis Committee are thrilled to invite you to the 2nd Annual Allan Van Nostrand Memorial Tennis Classic. Allan Van Nostrand's legacy as a great teacher and coach, and most importantly, a true gentleman and pillar of our community, is honored at this event. Mr. Van Nostrand impacted so many lives with his kind and gentle nature, integrity, and strength of character. The Y is proud to honor this legacy by continuing to help kids in our community in his name. Thanks to the generous support of last year's participants, over $53,000 was raised at our inaugural event. Proceeds enabled the Y to provide Allan Van Nostrand Program Scholarships to more than thirty students for Afterschool Homework Assistance, Child Care and Day Camp services, which includes the YMCA "Imagination Station" summer literacy program. In addition, two Bay Shore High School seniors were awarded $2,500 Allan Van Nostrand Memorial Scholarships in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the classroom, in athletics, and in the community.
